With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Gisela Irene Tay of Fresno, California passed away at her home surrounded by loved ones on July 2, 2024, at the age of 79.

Gisela was born in Bauerwitz, Germany on September 27, 1944 to Heinrich Duczek and Anna Duczek. She attended high school and college in Germany studying in Design and earning a degree in Visual Merchandiser. She worked at Terrible's Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada as a Hostess for 10+ years.

Gisela enjoyed snorkelling, going to the casino, keeping her garden in tip top shape, and taking care of her grandchildren. 

She is survived by her brother Gerhard Duczek and her sister Renate Pfaller of Germany. Gisela leaves behind her children, Michelle (Patrick) Gallardo, Doris (Pete) Magdaleno, Anita (Ernie) King, and George (Deville) Mendiola; her grandchildren, Damian Barci, Patrick Gallardo Jr., Nikko Gallardo, Melissa (Mike) Voyer, Jonathan (Janie) King, Nathan King, Judah (Erika) King, David (Kamarin) King, Naomi King, Glory King, Peter Jr. (Jennifer) Magdaleno, Carmen Palacios, Simone (Cody) Lemere, Patricia Mendiola, Olivia Mendiola, Tamar Mendiola, Genesis Mendiola, George Jr. Mendiola; her great grandchildren, Lydia Voyer, Asa Voyer, Laya Voyer, Uriah King, Ronan King, Savannah King, Nora Magdaleno, Mariel Magdaleno, Cruz Lemere, Levi Lemere, Bentley Lemere, and Zion. 

Gisela was predeceased by her sister Zita Duczek; her brother Gunther (Lizzy) Duczek of Germany; her grandson Aaron King, her granddaughter Destiny Garcia and Mary Mendiola. 

Gisela's memory will be a guiding star for all who knew her. We will miss you very much.
